Nice stove from Camp Art. I knew about the aluminium pans but not about a mini Trangia look a like. I think about building such a system by myself. Then it is possible to use a wide variety of pans and not only the Trangia pans.

Getting fed up of UA-cam not notifying me of when you upload new videos!

I’ve had this one for years. The battery still works but even when it was brand new it under-performed. You can get a single phone charge out of it. It will not last more than a night if you’re camping. It will not make it through a power outage. Because it takes 5-6 hours to fully charge and you get so little performance out of it, it really feels like you’re charging it all the time. I’ve grown to really dislike mine and am looking for a replacement that has a more powerful battery.

Spot on mate..you hit the nail on the head when you said we seem to be in a country where we’re hated. The US are having the same issue in terms of recruitment. Why would anyone join the army when they’ve been told for the last ten years that they’re bad, bad people?…Male?..bad, white?..bad, straight?..bad…not that I have anything at all against anyone who isn’t, but why is it bad to be male, white, straight etc etc..the woke agenda is nuts. People are people. We’re all free to take whatever path we wish or do whatever is natural to us..yet people feel ostracised. I despair at what country has become. I would still fight to protect it because us normal people are overwhelmingly good decent people and worth fighting for, but the powers that be just appear corrupt beyond belief, and seem to go out of their way to try to destroy our beautiful country and it’s identity. It was Cameron that ruined thing for new recruits by cut the wages and pensions for the regular as well reserve forces as well as cutting after care to a near non existent level for those with PTSD and other service related issues. So now this has put pay to recruitment as as what you're saying.

I totally agree with your sentiment about Britain. It's hard to muster any enthusiasm to protect a country that stamps on it's long term citizens in the vindictive way it does these days. But it's also a concerning sentiment, because if the country lacks social cohesion enough to defend it, then the alternative could be losing a war and being taken over by a far worse totalitarian regime. And we can hardly imagine what that's like because we've had it so good for so long. It's hard to be positive about our future when you consider the likely different outcomes.

Firstly, this country can't even provide our young people with affordable homes, so there's nothing Great in Britain for them to even fight for. Secondly, we are all getting a real good look at global politics, there are no good guys - we fly around the world on America's coattails bombing and destabilising brown countries then we cry about immigration and refugees.

Well said, In addition I think the comments made by the British Army Colonel about needing to conscript were a roundabout way of applying pressure to the Gov to get more funding for the existing military, It also shows those in charge how unwilling the general population are when it comes to conscription, increasing the pressure further for a more active military

You'd be amazed at how many youngsters get refused admission in to the army for silly health reasons. I know of a 16 year old who was refused because he took an asthma med aged 2. Never had asthma or any health issues growing up, but the army said no. Funnily enough I found out that he subsequently joined the Royal Marines without issue & got his green beret. And don't get me started on the political left or the police😡

For me it's not even an issue of Patriotism, albeit I have little to none left for the UK. My biggest issue is, I wouldn't be allowed to defend my home & family against an enemy intruder without being locked up... But they'd sooner send me off to fight a foreign enemy with weapons I'm forbidden from owning/using back at home.

You hit that nail well and truly square-on. I tried to join the RAF at 16 in a technical role (avionics/engineering) as several family members were already in the service. Unfortunately there were around 100 16-18 year olds down at a test centre on Gt Portland St in London and we had to do a series of tests for a limited number of vacancies. Suffice to say i didn't get in. After 2 years on a YTS scheme and placement (electronics), i walked into Army recruitment centre in Leeds and asked to speak to the RAF recruiter. I was told I had come at the wrong time as no recruiting was going on. So I became a photocopier engineer instead. Knowing what I know and feel now, I wouldn't want to serve for what this country has now become. It's sad to say that but I think Britain is broken.

Actively discriminated against in the job market, housing etc Removed from every advert and told to keep our mouths shut about our replacements. Now they have the cheek to expect us to die in a frozen wasteland for their globalist handlers. No thanks. Let their beloved diversity quotas do it. Why fight for a country we don't even recognise anymore?

Some great points Rod. On balance I would still fight for my country, yes we seem confronted by either left or right wing politics but the silent majority are still hanging in there, just about 😊

I don't get why we need a large army. Defending an island with naval and air assets plus nuclear submarines should be our priority and more than enough to see off a potential invading force trying to cross the sea to reach us. The numbers of army personnel have been run down to cut costs precisely because it must've been deemed unnecessary to have an army of that size.
